- Understand the tools and materials used in this traditional art form.

Types of Blocks

- Explore the styles of Gad (Ground), Rekh (Outline), and Datte (Filler) designs.

Layering and Printing Techniques

- Learn to layer a motive design or an all-over design using water-based pigments.

- Experiment with mixing and matching colors to create dynamic patterns.

Creating Your Unique Piece

- Choose from a range of intricate designs inspired by Sanganeri prints.

- Gain access to designs from our studio fabric collection.

- Apply your designs to create a one-of-a-kind product.

Hands-On Experience:

With careful guidance and expert instruction, you'll have the opportunity to:

- Practice printing with wooden blocks.

- Experiment with different color combinations and layering techniques.

Unleash Your Creativity: This workshop is designed to inspire and nurture your creative spirit. You'll leave with a deeper appreciation for the art of block printing and the satisfaction of creation.

What We Provide:

- All necessary materials (wooden blocks, pigments, fabrics).

- One of the following:

  • Long Scarf: One scarf (22”W x 72”L) in soft Cotton Cambric. Yours to take home at the end of the workshop!

  • Tableware Set: Includes 4 placemats (14” x 20”) in a durable Linen-Cotton, known for its medium weight, slight texture. Yours to take home at the end of the workshop!

  • Large Tote: Includes 1 tote bag (20”W x 17”H x 6”D) in a durable Cotton Casement. Ready next business day for pickup or free delivery within Jaipur.

Block Printing Workshop FAQ:

  • Block printing is a traditional art form that involves carving designs onto wooden blocks and then transferring those designs onto fabric.

  • This workshop offers a basic overview of block printing techniques. You will learn about the history and cultural significance of block printing, the tools and materials used, and different types of block designs. You'll also learn how to layer designs and experiment with colors to create dynamic patterns.

  • You will create a long scarf, tableware or tote bags. You can choose from a range of intricate designs provided, access the studio's design collection or even have custom blocks made.

  • All necessary materials are provided, including wooden blocks, pigments, and fabrics.

  • No prior experience is necessary. This workshop is suitable for beginners and those looking to expand their artistic skills. Expert guidance and support are provided throughout the workshop.

  • Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for a hands-on workshop.

  • The workshop is held at Creatis. The timings are 11 am or 3 pm. (Sunday available for a group size of 4+.) The duration of the workshop is 2 hours.

  • You can receive a full refund if you cancel your reservation at least 3 hours in advance for groups of fewer than 4, or 24 hours in advance for groups of 4 or more, prior to the scheduled class time.

  • Participants must be 12 years or older for workshops, and if they are under 18, they must be accompanied by an adult.
